The irresponsibility and negligence of a man driving a pickup truck Tuesday afternoon in the Los Angeles area added fire during the most devastating fire season in California history.
The vehicle was pulling a heavy trailer in the Woodland Hills area of the San Fernando Valley. When around 2 pm struck other vehicles and tried to flee a police chase began which then became tense when the driver decided to head south on Topanga Canyon Blvd, a narrow road that runs through the canyon and the community of the same name.
During the chase, the trailer lost at least one tire and that produced sparks that immediately caused the fire, according to witnesses. Topanga Canyon Blvd was closed for a few hours.

Eventually, the man merged onto the PCH coastal road off Malibu and after a while in which he continued to show very erratic behavior, he was arrested around 3:10 p.m. after stopping the vehicle at Carbon Canyon Rd.
Authorities said the suspect struck about 30 vehicles during its bumpy and dangerous ride.
My bro and I were literally one lane over from this maniac as one of his tires came off on fire with sparks everywhere. We then got stuck in Topanga Canyon coming back from the valley because of the wildfire his chase started. So 2020. https://t.co/yEnviaeYJs

The fire was brought under control after burning just 10 acres thanks to a quick reaction from firefighters, which mobilized many resources, including several aircraft. Weather conditions with mild temperatures this time and little wind made this task easier.
The suspect was not immediately identified, but he is a white male.
