Firefighters found a lifeless woman inside a garage that burned in southern Los Angeles.

The fire started at 2:00 a.m. from Sunday in the 42nd Street and Broadway Avenue. Firefighters arrived on the scene and managed to control the calls. Upon inspecting the site they found the 58-year-old woman, who apparently lived in the garage.

The site was deserted since it was sold months ago. The new owners were expected to demolish it. For now the cause of the incident is unknown.

"We still work with LAPD and the Unit against terrorism of Premeditated Fires, to investigate people who knew the woman, to know the time she was on the property, because at this point we do not know how long she had been there," said Captain Cody Weireter of the Los Angeles Firefighters.
