Maurice Ravel's timeless masterpiece L'Enfant et les Sortilèges will be played at the Frost School of Music on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st November at 7:30 am at the University of Miami.
The two-part lyric fantasy was composed by Maurice Ravel between 1919 and 1925, in collaboration with Colette who wrote the booklet, initially titled Ballet for my daughter.
The Child and the Spells is the story of a mischievous and lazy little boy who is condemned to stay in his room until dinner. In anger, he attacks objects around him that suddenly come alive and decide to take their revenge.
