Los Angeles County is expecting temperatures to exceed 100º F over the weekend and has issued an Excess Heat Alert
As he National Weather Service of Los Angeles (NWS) as well as the county Department of Public Health, have issued an excessive heat alert for the upcoming weekend.
The NWS has forecast high temperatures from Friday to Monday, with Sunday being the hottest day. Higher temperatures are expected to oscillate between 100º F and 115º F in the valleys far from the coast.

However, overnight temperatures are expected to drop considerably and stay close to 70º F. This wave of excessive heat significantly increases the risk of forest fires, according to the NWS.
The Department of Health has said that Valleys of San Fernando, San Gabriel, Antelope and Santa Clarita they will have the highest temperatures from Friday to Sunday.

Authorities recommend avoiding outdoor activities, leaving children or pets in a car in the sun, and being attentive to the appearance of symptoms related to heat illness such as high temperature, vomiting or pale skin.
