Parents seek compensation from the county for what they believe was the use of excessive force against their child

The parents of Andrew Saved, the 18-year-old who was killed by two agents from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (THE D), they sued the county alleging that the officer used unreasonable force against their son, who was shot five times in the back.

Elisa and Cristóbal Guardado filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday in relation to the death of his son Andrés, according to information from the Efe agency.

Andrés Guarded died on June 18 after being pursued on foot by LASD agents as seen in this video revealed by investigators.

An independent autopsy, and the official autopsy, confirmed the impact of five bullet bullets in Andrés’ back, which caused his immediate death.

Data from the LASD investigation ensure that the young I was not licensed or old to be a security guard, as various sources related to the case had assured. Guarded had a gun in his possession at the time of the chase, according to detectives.

According to the Efe agency, “the lawsuit against the county also names agents Miguel Vega and Chris Hernández as defendants, and seeks unspecified compensation.”

It further alleges that “LASD knew that Vega and his partner were unfit to carry out patrol duties and that each had a history of unwarranted use of excessive force”.
