Bonnard to Vuillard: The Intimate Poetry of Everyday Life
Infos and tickets
Location : The Phillips Collection
Address : 1600 21st Street, NW Washington, DC
At the end of the nineteenth century, the impressionism falters and gives way to a flowering of different styles. The Phillips Collection pays tribute to the work of French post-impressionist artists during its new exhibition "Bonnard to Vuillard: The Intimate Poetry of Everyday Life", visible until January 26, 2020.
In total, sixty works by Pierre Bonnard, Édouard Vuillard, Maurice Denis, Aristide Maillol, Paul Ranson, Ker-Xavier Roussel and Félix Vallotton, figures of the Nabis artist group and engines of the transition to post-impressionism, will be shown to the public. Their works reflect the eclecticism of the artistic production of the time. The exhibition brings together tapestries, paintings, stained glass and ceramics.
