Brooklyn falls for France
Full program

A JR exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum, a reading of Molière at Prospect Park or a discussion with author Edouard Louis at the BAM … Here are some of the events on the Brooklyn falls for France program, an initiative of the Cultural Services of the Embassy of France to highlight the French-American cultural events taking place in Brooklyn until February 1, 2020.

The highlights of this event include the exhibition "JR: Chronicles" (from October 4 at the Brooklyn Museum), which traces the work of the street artist from his beginnings in Paris to his large murals today, or the exhibition on the creator Pierre Cardin (until January 5, 2020, also at the BAM).

On the theater side, The End of Eddy (Ending Eddy Bellegueule), the play inspired by the childhood of Edward Louis, will be played from November 14 to 21 at the BAM and a discussion with the author will take place on the 11th. Why?, Peter Brook and his partner Marie-Hélène Estienne, a theater-themed drama, will be at the Theater for a New Audience until 6 October as part of the FIAF Crossing the Line Festival.

In total, artistic and cultural events in about twenty places are highlighted during Brooklyn falls for France. Among the places to discover or rediscover, include The Chimney, which will host a solo exhibition by artist Gilles Barbier around umbrellas, the ISSUE Project Room (concert of multi-instrumentalist Rhys Chatham October 4 and 5) or the Invisible gallery Dog (dance and music show mixing influences from around the world on October 29th).
