Celebrate 30th anniversary of the Mariachi Festival

The legendary Mariachi Vargas will close the Festival.

As every November 19, the Mariachi Square Los Angeles is adorned with bright colors and sounds in celebration of the Santa Cecilia Day, traditionally known as the patron saint of musicians. But today is an occasion is special, because the Mariachi Festival celebrates its 30th anniversary.

From 10 in the morning until 10 at night, attendees can enjoy a variety of melodies by local and young talent from groups such as the Mariachi Alanos Garfield High School, to the already recognized work of consolidated ensembles, such as famous Mariachi Vargas of Tecalitlán.

Within the broad program, the Mariachi Rainbow of Los Angeles stood out, with interpretations that combine lyrics in Spanish and English, dedicated to the dreamers and migrants from California. This is the "first LGBT mariachi worldwide", according to its members.
