Diving in the DNV Rooftop pool

Located a few minutes walk from the White House, the DNV Rooftop Lounge is an address known to regulars of the nightlife. Located on the 14th floor of this luxury hotel, the bar offers colorful cocktails, shared plates, and Sunday brunch. Concerts are regularly organized near the rooftop pool. Open from Tuesday to Thursday between 4pm and 11pm and from Friday to Saturday between 4pm and 1am. More information here.

Pilates or yoga

What's better than starting the day with a pilates session on one of Washington's rooftops? The Embassy of Sweden organizes free morning sessions between 6am and 7am on its rooftop (2900 K. St NW). More information here. For yoga enthusiasts, the roof of the Embassy Row Hotel (2015 Massachusetts Ave) hosts Epic Yoga DC sessions every Saturday and Sunday at 8 am.

Coworking on a rooftop

Washington DC has many coworking spaces. Renowned for being one of the most enjoyable, Wework is located in many places in the capital. Offices often have a rooftop, on which it is possible to sit on the terrace and work while admiring the view of the city. The roof of Metropolitan Square is the most impressive, as it overlooks the Washington Monument. An inspiring space to work. More information here.

Attend a concert admiring the view

Listen to a concert in a bar, it's good. But on a rooftop, it's even better! There are several good places to listen to live music bands on the Washington skyline. Since opening in 2007, Marvin has been dancing soul lovers. Inspired by singer Marvin Gaye (who hails from Washington), this bar located on a rooftop also offers a nice view of the busy U-Street.

To see a match

Why not enjoy a game of your favorite team (baseball, football …) on one of the roofs of the city? At Nellie's Sports Bar (900 U-Street NW), fans meet each other every night with a drink. Known for its cozy atmosphere, Nellie's Sports Bar is located in the heart of historic U-Street, where there are many bars. Happy hour takes place every night between 5pm and 9pm.
