Stay at home, except when necessary. This is the watchword launched by the authorities of SF Bay as part of the containment imposed on Tuesday, March 17. All residents of Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Contra Costa and Alameda counties are affected. A decision that runs until April 7 to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus. And this is not an option, it is a legal obligation. Those who do not comply commit a crime and are liable to be punished by law. Everything you need to know to understand what is allowed and what is not:

The structures and shops open during this period:
Police stations, fire stations, hospitals, clinics, medical centers, pharmacies, transport (even the Muni), petrol pumps, food stores (farmers markets also), restaurants where you can remote control and take orders, DIY stores, laundromats, banks, postal services, some city services (water, gas), prisons, courts.

Closed structures:
Restaurants, sports halls, bars, clubs, cinemas and all the shops not mentioned above. In short, everything that belongs to the leisure sector.

What I can't do:

– Any group activity. No dinners at home, playdates or various invitations, with family or friends. One exception, however, is that it is possible to visit elderly relatives or people who need assistance. You must therefore keep a safety distance of 6 feet and protect yourself well (hand washing, disinfectant, handkerchiefs, etc.)

– No exit “not necessary”: we forget the detours to get nails decorated, cut hair or trim the beard. Shopping – other than in structures considered essential (open structures) – is prohibited.

– Public transport works, but it can only be used if necessary and if it is not being transported. You can also travel by car or motorbike only if necessary: to go shopping, buy medicine, put gas or go to the doctor.

– Ditto for taxis and VTC.

To note :

– The parking rules are getting lighter. There will be no ticketing or impoundment, for example if you park without a permit in places that usually require residential permits. On the other hand, all vehicles blocking emergency access will be penalized (red and yellow lines, "no stopping", "no parking" zones, cycle paths, etc.).

– In general, if you need to move, you prefer walking or driving.

– The parks remain open and you can walk, run or walk around individually.

– Always keep a distance of 6 feet in the event of an encounter. And if there is any doubt, details and exceptions can be found here.
