The Guatemalan and El Salvadorian Consulates in Los Angeles, closed their attendance to the public "until further notice" due to the growing threat of spread of the coronavirus.

In a statement, the Guatemalan consulate reported: “In the face of the global emergency due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus or coronavirus, we find ourselves in need of supporting and abiding by the recommendations of local authorities. (…) As of March 17, 2020, our offices will remain closed to the public." For its part, the consulate of El Salvador has been closed since the past monday march 16.
