Pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by subway train in Pasadena

A pedestrian was seriously injured on Friday morning after get caught under a train of the Golden Line in Pasadena.

The incident was reported at Allen Station, located at 395 North Allen Avenue, just after 3 a.m., the Pasadena Fire Department said in a press release.

The firemen who arrived located the man caught and noticed that he was still breathing, according to the press release.

Emergency teams had to turn off the power at the scene of the incident and at the substations east and west of the incident. Traffic control was also requested on Highway 210 westbound.

Firefighters needed about 12 minutes to get the person trapped under the train, which was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, according to the press release.

The train driver was examined at the scene but was not transported.

The cause of the incident is being investigated.
