Photojournalist Jean-Pierre Laffont will present his new postcard book "Our Stars of America" at Albertine on December 12 at 6:30 pm. The 84-year-old French co-founded agencies Gamma USA and Sygma Photo News. The latter will become the leader of international news agencies from the 1970s to the 1990s.
In over 50 years of career, Jean-Pierre Laffont has traveled the globe and photographed the news, personalities and economic and social problems of his time. His book, published on September 19 in France by Editions la Martinière, brings together 60 French personalities from the artistic world photographed in the United States.
In this nostalgic album, Jean-Pierre Laffont remembers his encounters, and his own memories are mingled with those of 18 such as Brigitte Bardot, Françoise Hardy, Claude Lelouch or Nana Mouskouri. The presentation of the book will be followed by a book signing session.
