As in 2017 for Hurricane Irma, the chain of Solidarité Hébergement was re-activated as Hurricane Dorian approached the French Southeast. The initiative was launched by Elisabeth Marchal, consular advisor for the Atlanta constituency (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, the Carolinas and Tennessee), which covers several states exposed to the devastating hurricane.

After sweeping the North of the Bahamas as Category 5 Hurricane – the most powerful recorded in this region – Sunday, Sept. 1 and Monday, 2 Dorian now threatens the East Coast of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The evacuation of several counties has already been decreed in these different States.
