"Farewell Mr. Haffmann" will transport the public of the Theater of the French Lycée (TLF) in the hard reality of Vichy France. The play written and directed by Jean-Philippe Daguerre will be presented on Thursday 26 September and Friday 27.
Built in short sequences, this thriller-like piece puts the spotlight on the daily life of three French men in 1942, in the midst of German occupation: jeweler Joseph Haffmann offers his employee Pierre Vigneau to entrust him with his jewelery, if he accepts the hide. Pierre then offers him a deal: that Joseph agrees to try to make a child to his wife Isabelle. Very talented, Pierre is acclaimed by Nazi dignitaries for his talent as a stone sculptor. As the play progresses, the relationships between these three characters will deteriorate.
"Farewell Mr. Haffmann" has had great success in France, winning four awards at the Molières 2018, including the best private show.
