There is plastic floating on the surface of the oceans. And there is one who hides in the sea, in the form of microplastics, and which is much more important. The University of Houston hosts a conference Friday, November 8, on this hidden plastic that poisons the flora and marine life.
On the program of this evening: the screening of "Oceans, The Mystery of the Missing Plastic", a documentary by Vincent Pérazio that focuses on the 99% of plastics immersed in the depths. It will be followed by a discussion between Ika Paul-Pont, specialist in marine "eco-toxicology" at the CNRS, Laura Jurgens (Texas A & M Galveston), Eric R. Bittner, Moores (Department of Chemistry at the University of Houston ), Sarah Mason (Recycling Division of the City of Houston). The conference will be hosted by Alfonso López of Osa Escribano, University of Houston.
It is part of FACT (French-American Climate Talks), a series of conferences organized by the French Embassy in the United States on the climate issue.
