Joe Collins, who was born between 104th Street and Normandie Avenue in South Los Angeles, invites you to meet him and talk a bit about his priorities in California’s 43rd District for the US Congress.

The young man, who is a war veteran, has run to unseat powerful Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters, who has been in power and representing the area for nearly 30 years.

But according to Collins’ biography, the district needs a change as upon his return from the military, after 13 years, he found that the neighborhood where he grew up still had the same problems as decades ago, alarming activity gang members, poverty, few educational and work opportunities and a great problem of homelessness, and that is precisely what he wants to change.

Collins invited the Latino community and all residents of District 43 that encompasses the cities of Inglewood, part of Hawthorne and Torrance, to arrive today at the El Super supermarket at 2045 South La Brea Ave, Inglewood, from 1 pm at 3:30 pm for them to talk and listen to the candidate’s plans for how to solve the situation in the area.
