A vehicle fatally struck a girl who was walking with her mother near a busy intersection in Koreatown on Wednesday morning, Los Angeles police said.

The driver stayed on the scene after hitting the child and her mother around 7:45 a.m. in the Olympic Boulevard area and Normandie Avenue, according to LAPD.

Just after 9 a.m., Officer Jeff Lee confirmed that the girl had died.

For the closing of this note it is not known the state of health of the mother and if the driver has been arrested.
