Oswaldo Sánchez does not understand the reason for the incident in Los Angeles; the attacker was arrested

A new case of violence against street vendors It has come to light and this time the victim was a Hispanic flower vendor in Los Angeles.

According to newspaper reports, Oswaldo Sánchez, a street vendor for the past eight years, was brutally beaten on the afternoon of July 12 at the corner of Maxella Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard, in Marina del Rey, in western Los Angeles.

Police indicated that a man later identified as Jamaal Hershel Jenkins, 32, attacked Sánchez with a metal object, hitting him unconscious. According to KABC, the attacker was detained by witnesses to the incident before his arrest.

Photos of the flower seller’s battered face in a hospital show his right eye completely closed from the swelling. A report indicates that Sánchez was in danger of losing his teeth.

“I saw that I had something in my hand, I don’t know, something small, hit me I fell unconscious. I did not understand the reason, because really I had seen that person in my life ”, Sánchez, then more recovered, told the Telemundo 52 channel.

“While I was arranging the flowers to continue the sale, an African American attacked me for no reason,” says a message from Sánchez, who has three children, published in a GoFundMe site page in which he requests help for his medical and other expenses.
