Kids and adults are starting to build their costumes and makeups to celebrate Halloween on October 31st. Here's a non-exhaustive guide to help you find the place for your most nightmarish night.

Houston

Do not miss the zombie walk at the Halloween festival that offers activities for the whole family (child costume contest and guaranteed fright zone). Others will prefer to discover the real Dracula at the National Museum of Funerary History dedicated to death and funeral with some special events in October and November. The Dracula cemetery details the life and death of the famous vampire. Visitors can put on a cape and fangs to have their picture taken in a casket. It seems like it's deadly. ZooBoo invites children to come disguised at the zoo on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until October 27th.

San Antonio

What is the current trend in the horror world? The undead or zombies! They are everywhere, in movies, clips, TV shows and … at San Antonio during their annual walk, on October 27, in the city. To join them, go to the Hemisfair Tower, between 5pm and 6pm, to head for the Alamo. The event is free. You can also be tempted by a haunted walk on the river on October 25, boarding the Arneson Theater on boats decorated for the occasion (rent on site) or join the party at the Rivercenter with a contest of the best costume. It's also an opportunity to see the Dantesque parade that will take place from 8pm to 9pm.

Dallas

Summon a spirit with a magic potion? This is possible with the choice of four potions (one night stand, break-up, Dr.Strangelove, sexy plum) made by Dude Sweet Chocolate. They are all based on chocolate, liqueurs such as tequila and bourbon, or other ingredients to die for. Halloweekend, a party organized in the Dallas Zoo, will allow little ones to do trick-or-treating on site and participate in various activities on October 26th and 27th.

Salado

Not far from Austin, at the Tablerock Amphitheater in Salado, the Trail of Fright offers games, contests and sinister stories to children. This path, 1.6 km long, is conducive to thrills and thrills, whimsical and magical. It is open from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm each evening of the event on October 19th, 26th and 27th.

Smithville

Take a terrifying journey through this forest of three haunted houses: the Manor of Terror, the City of the Undead, and the Circus Massacre. Sensitive souls refrain. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Boerne

The October 26 haunted show at the "Cave of No Name", a real cavern carved in stone that serves as a performance hall, features the Rahim Quazi Trio, which will play classical and jazzy songs (Moonlight Sonata, A Nightmare before Christmas , Dance of Death…). The first song will be played in complete darkness. Disguises are welcome.
