The 20 firefighters from California who traveled to Australia to fight the fires have returned.

The twenty firefighters who traveled from California to Australia last January to support the combat to the fires returned this Wednesday home, according to the newspaper Los Angeles Times. With relatives and colleagues, an emotional reception ceremony was organized at a station in Southern California.

For almost a month, the team consisting of 18 men and 2 women of this state were located in the Angeles National Forest (Angeles National Forest) and worked hard to control fires in the region southeast of Australia.

At least 33 people died from the fireand at least 3,000 houses were destroyed since the month of September.

More than one hundred firefighters from all over the country they have been sent to Australia the last several months, to face the terrible fires they consumed near 12.5 million hectares of vegetation and thousands of animals.
