Seven short films on the big screen of the TRK during the French Short Films Night

A few days before the Oscars, French cinema will be in the spotlight. The French Short Films Night takes place on Thursday, February 6 at the Raymond Kabbaz Theater in Los Angeles. Eclectic short films (subtitled in English), released in 2018 and 2019, were selected by a jury made up of the theater team and the Alliance Française office.

The curtain will rise on the fiction of William Laboury, “Yandere”, where you will share the first heartbreak of Maïko, a holographic girl.

This film will give way to “Grandfather” (“Grandfather”), directed by Maximilian Badier-Rosenthal. In this drama, the life of a Vietnamese grandfather will be disrupted by the gift of his grandson, a comfortable leather chair.

This short film will be followed by the animated film "À l'ouest" ("Disoriented"), directed by Jéremie Cousin. It tells the story of a father and his sons who sail on a sailboat when they hit a rock.

Then, "Nefta Football Club", the film by Yves Piat selected for the Césars 2020, will immerse you in a Tunisian village which will be stirred by the discovery of bags containing a white powder.

An evening interspersed with wine and cheese

After the intermission and its wine and cheese tastings, three short films will amaze the public. The documentary “It’s only after” (“Only After”) by Vincent Pouplard features the testimonies of 20 year olds.

Directed by Jean-Claude Rozec, the cartoon “Tadpole” (“Tadpole”) tells the story of the arrival of a new child in a family, through the eyes of his big sister.

The evening will conclude with the fiction “Air Comprimé” (“Shooters”) by Antoine Giorgini which tells the story of a couple who will be traumatized after being attacked by a paintball shooter. If the evening tempts you, do not hesitate any longer, the tickets go away like hotcakes.
