In an effort of greater inclusion, the authorities have installed several of these ramps in different beaches of the county
Despite the inclusion and accessibility efforts for the disabled in most of the facilities near the beach, reaching the shore or at least approaching to sunbathe on the sand is very difficult if you go in a wheelchair or with a stroller.
But Department of Beaches and Bays Los Angeles County is implementing new alternatives by installing access ramps on the sand for people in wheelchairs, mothers with strollers or people who have mobility problems and find it difficult to walk on unstable terrain such as sand.

On the beach Torrance beach South of Los Angeles, one of these access ramps has been installed and now joins other more accessible county beaches such as Mother’s Beach, Topanga Beach, Zuma Beach, Will Rogers State Beach, and Dockweiler State Beach.
“We want everyone to be able to go to the beach, these ramps provide an opportunity for people with mobility problems. It gives them a better surface to move around”Said Nicole Mooradian, a department spokeswoman quoted by Spectrum News.
