Quarantine order could return to Los Angeles if coronavirus cases continue to rise

Last Wednesday the mayor of the city of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, he stated during a conference that the quarantine order could return to the city if the coronavirus continues its rapid increase.

"The coronavirus is not gone, in fact it is worse", said Garcetti referring to the increase seen by the city and the state of California. The state reported yesterday the highest number of new cases confirmed in one day with more than 11,500.

The city of Los Angeles accumulates more than 52,000 confirmed cases of the 123,004 in the county.

Mayor He referred to the city's risk indicator to measure the risk of contagion and stated that it is currently colored orange, indicating high risk.

"If things get worse, that indicator could turn red in a week or two. That would put us at a very high risk of contagion and we would probably go back to the quarantine order.Garcetti assured.
