With figures that continue to increase daily and new reopening measures that change frequently and according to the locality, it is difficult to keep updated.

California Governor Gavin Newsom identified four stages (California Pandemic Resilience Roadmap) that will determine the State's actions and the necessary measures to reintroduce activities and sectors in phases, and prevent the recurrence of outbreaks and new infections. The Golden State is currently in the Stage two that allows the reopening of businesses and services with low risk of contagion.

In accordance with those orders, Los Angeles County this week released a guide for Los Angeles residents.

They are kept closed:

  • Bars and nightclubs
  • Gyms and other exercise centers
  • Cinemas, theaters, stadiums, amusement parks, concerts and festivals.
  • Museums, zoos, bowling alleys and parks with games for children.
  • Community centers and public pools. Pools, hot tubs, and saunas in multi-unit dwelling buildings are permitted.
  • Beauty salons, including nail, hair, makeup and skincare services, massage parlors and tattoo shops.

They can work, train or offer their services:

  • Employees, volunteers, patients and clients of hospitals, clinics, dentists, laboratories, optometrists, chiropractors, mental health services, marijuana dispensaries and veterinarians.
  • Airport and port operations, construction work, oil extraction, and highway and highway repair are also permitted.
  • Cemeteries, funeral homes and crematoriums are open.

The following are considered essential:

  • Supermarkets, newspapers, radios and television stations.
  • Gas stations, car and bicycle repair centers.
  • Banks, credit unions, financial institutions, and insurance companies.

Religious services

Religious organizations are authorized to resume their services, but with a limited number of parishioners. Churches, temples, mosques and other centers of faith can receive up to 25% of the total physical capacity of the building or no more than one hundred people, whichever number is less.

Outdoor activities

Los Angeles County beaches are open with restrictions. Swimming, surfing, walking, running or cycling are possible. Sunbathing, fishing, picnicking, lying on the sand, or bringing chairs or umbrellas are not allowed. It is mandatory to maintain a distance of six feet at all times, except between people from the same household and to wear chinstraps when leaving the water. The docks, beach accesses and volleyball courts are closed to the public. The sale of drinks and food on the beach is prohibited. As for the community parks and gardens, Los Angeles County recommends six-foot social distancing and the use of chinstraps. Private classes are allowed as long as they meet the distance requirements and do not include more than two people. Bicycle rental is also prohibited.

Transport

The Metropolitan Transit Authority (Metro) requires chinstraps for all bus or train passengers. Metrolink It also requires masks and distance between passengers and, at the moment, only offers limited services. Amtrak It also continues to offer train service, with similar restrictions.
