The city offers many options for lovers to celebrate romance in the least conventional ways possible

Yes, it is good to celebrate Valentine's Day with flowers, chocolates and a romantic dinner. But why so conventional, when in Los Angeles there are a myriad of offers for the most authentic and fun lovers?

How about a gondola ride – yes, because we have our own version of the canals of Venice – or a burlesque show where the main act is a fight between two burly masks? Something more classic or like to melt the heart? How about staying at home and watching a marathon of the most emblematic fairytale weddings in this studio at Disney Plus?

Whatever the bet, the important thing is to have a good time with your favorite person on this day of love. These are our suggestions for this date.

A gondola ride

Los Angeles has water channels, and gondolas too, although many do not know. There are several companies that offer this tour, in which a gondolier runs a small boat and paddles through calm waters that circulate around several cities located on the coast of California. They can accommodate from two to a dozen people.

Depending on the plan purchased, travelers can enjoy a cheese board with wine or a full meal. In recent years, these walks have become very popular for the bride and groom who are looking for a different space to propose marriage.

To choose the best option you will have to determine what type of walk you are looking for, if it is only to celebrate the day, to have dinner or to look at the stars. In either case the goal is the same: to do something different and at the same time romantic on this date. You are with some of the companies that offer this service: gondolasdamore.com in Marina del Rey; sunsetgondola.com in Huntington Beach and gondolagetawayinc.com in Long Beach.
