Los Angeles County health authorities on Monday asked its population to avoid going to supermarkets this week to try to stop the increase in the number of infections by coronavirus.

"If you have enough supplies at home, now is the time to avoid shopping entirelySaid Dr. Barbara Ferrer, director of the Angelino County Department of Public Health.

Ferrer urged to use the services of sending copras and medicines, instead of physically going to commercial establishments.

"We'll see many more cases in the coming weeks"He warned in accordance with what the White House advanced during the past weekend. "It is important that let's keep doing what we know works"Ferrer said in reference to the social distancing measures that in states like California require staying at home.

A similar recommendation was made by Dr. Deborah Birx, coordinator of the federal strategy against coronavirus, at especially request those who live in "high risk areas" to minimize transfers to supermarkets and pharmacies in the next two weeks.

Birx pointed out in the informative session this Monday that, if they cannot avoid traveling to these places, only one person per house goes to ensure that social distance measures are met also inside these facilities.
