The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has asked for help in identifying a man suspected of murdering a Hispanic in the westlake neighborhood Earlier this year, after publishing a photo of him, local media echoed today.

The suspect, described as an older man with glasses combed with a long ponytail, allegedly shot dead on January 6 to Erik Pérez, 48 years old.

The photo shows the alleged murderer walking down the street with his hands in his pocket next to a greengrocer and wearing some brown pants, black t-shirt and gray sweater.

According to the LAPD, police officers found Perez lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound in the chest around the 7:30 in the afternoon.

Later, he was pronounced dead at the crime scene.

After a two-month investigation, the authorities determined that the suspect shot Pérez after a quick street dispute.

“The suspect stopped, turned around and shouted at the victim. The victim turned and looked at the suspect. Both the victim and the suspect walked towards each other, at which time the suspect pulled a gun from his waist. The suspect fired a shot, hitting the victim in the chest, ”describes the LAPD.

In its statement, the local Los Angeles Police asked “anyone who can know the identity of the suspect” to contact the department, even anonymously.
