Los Angeles County residents were ordered to stay home from the coronavirus pandemic since last March and after six months being the epicenter of the disease in the state, so are the data regarding the disease.

The director of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Dr. Barbara Ferrer reported this Monday of the death of 16 people, for a total of 6,366 deaths in six months of the pandemic.

According to Ferrer, in the county “92% of the people who have died” have had a chronic disease, which worsened his condition.

However, the days with thousands of new daily cases seem to be behind us and the director confirmed a total of 652 new cases, including the weekend delay. So far Los Angeles has had 261,446 cases of coronavirus.

The state health system is currently providing care to 749 infected. At its worst, the county had more than 2,000 occupied beds.

So far, more than 2.5 million tests have been conducted in the county. However, despite the improvement, the county assured that it will not consider opening non-essential businesses until October.

The Governor of California today gave an overview of the state and reported that the positivity rate per 100,000 residents is at 3.1% and that hospitalizations have dropped an average of 23%, meanwhile, patients in intensive care have also decreased by 25%.
