Twelve days after the young Andrés Guardado was shot to death by sheriffs of the Los Angeles County Sheriff in the city of Gardena, his family again demanded information and accused through a lawyer the "lock" that the authorities have put on the delicate case.

The Guardado family went to a Los Angeles court Tuesday to raise complaints against Los Angeles County and the Sheriff's Department, in addition to preparing a civil lawsuit.

Guardado died the night of June 18 outside a tin shop in Gardena for allegedly carrying a firearm when two sheriffs chased him.

The incident sparked a series of protests in the Los Angeles area at a time when police brutality is debated nationwide.

The Guardados said they want an independent autopsy to be performed after the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department blocked publication of autopsy results original.

"I want to make sure this doesn't happen to any other mother"Said Elisa Guardado, mother of the former student who was shot at least six times.

"It is painful. My son wanted to be a doctor, my son wanted to take care of me. Who is going to take care of me now? ”, He added in information disclosed by various means

Adam Shea, a lawyer for the Guardado family, accused the "lock" by the authorities, according to a ABC7 local channel report.

"We want transparency, we want the community to know what is happening and they just put a lock on this, they are not revealing any information. The sheriffs, as we understand it, have not been interviewed, "Shea said.

Lack of transparency has been the common denominator of the case, including the blocking of surveillance camera videos at the place where the fatal incident occurred, in addition to Miguel Vega, identified as the sheriff who killed Guardado, has not spoken to investigators., according to his own lawyer.

Adam Marangell he told CNN that the officer "will give an interview within the next 10 days". According to Marangell, Guardado "refused multiple orders not to reach for his pistol, forcing Vega to fire his weapon in fear of his life."

Chris Hernández has been identified as the other sheriff involved.

The Guardado family lawyer insisted Tuesday that the weapon found at the scene of the incident was not that of the young Hispanic man.

"We don't think he had a gun. There was a gun at the scene. How and why that gun was there and who it belonged to is the question that needs to be answered, ”said attorney Shea.
