The music store Amoeba announced this Wednesday that will leave the legendary building in which it has been located for almost 20 years, in the Hollywood area, according to the company's statement.

What may be the largest record store in the United States will change location, given the sale of the building it currently occupies, which was bought by a group of developers in 2015, for $ 34 millionwho plan to build a tower of 200 departments and commercial units in the place.

The legendary building, inspired by the science fiction culture, is located at 6400 of the boulevard de Sunset, between Ivar and Cahuenga, in the most traditional area of The Angels.

The owners of the store, which also have headquarters in the city of San Francisco, also announced that they already have a new location, which for the faithful buyers will not be a problem to locate, since they will be located only a few blocks from the site, in the corner of the boulevard of Hollywood with the avenue Argyle. This is on the ground floor of El Centro, the commercial and residential complex in front of the theater La Fonda and the station of Vine subway.

Amoeba opened its Hollywood store in 2001 and immediately became a mythical place, key point for tourism and those who enjoy music, books and movies, so, even if the company continues to exist, the Angels will miss seeing one of Hollywood's landmarks.
