On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the French Consulate in Los Angeles is organizing a photo competition to illustrate a theme: equality.

Each participant must send before March 15 a photo that illustrates this year's slogan: "I am of the equality generation: stand up for women's rights". The goal is to open the eyes of the public to gender stereotypes, to defeat prejudices or to put forward women known and unknown.

The rules of the game are simple, send your best shot (JPEG format) which illustrates the theme to: (email protected) All types of shots are allowed from the smartphone to the Polaroid. The photographs received will be sent to a jury which will select the three best. The finalists will have their photos posted on the consulate website and on social networks to decide between them. The winner of the competition will be announced on March 23. He will be offered a dinner for three people at the France residence in Los Angeles.

The competition is free and open to anyone over the age of 12, living in the consular district (Southern California, Southern Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico).

It is allowed to touch up the cropping, the black and white treatment, the modifications of certain parameters (saturation, contrast, sharpness, color temperature, white and color balance) as well as the sharpening, the localized retouching and the elimination of noise, provided that it does not alter the message of the image.
