The Covid-19 will not get the better of French culture in Los Angeles. The Raymond Kabbaz Theater (TRK), the cultural space of the Lycée Français de Los Angeles, has launched its virtual season 2020-2021. He is organizing an evening dedicated to retro French advertising on Thursday, November 19 at 8pm (and accessible for 24 hours in the United States).

In collaboration with the Maison de la Pub in Paris, the TRK dusted off French advertisements from the 1950s to the 1980s, relegated to the archives, something to delight nostalgic people. During this evening, you will rediscover old societal and cultural norms through themes such as sexism, miracle products, advertising in the service of great causes and the use of celebrities to give credibility to products.

“I think this selection will not only entertain us, but maybe inspire us to think about current advertisements and how they might be viewed in the future”, pleads Pierre Leloup, artistic director of the TRK. Enough to change future discussions in family meals.
