In recent years, the financial services professions have made an effort to become more feminine and have more diversity, but there is still a lot of work to be done: women still represent only 24% of senior roles in companies in finance, and only 3.8% of CEOs in the United States are African-American. It was on this basis that Chappuis Halder, a management consulting firm specializing in financial services, decided to launch a hackaton dedicated to diversity and inclusion in the sector. ” We have been imagining this project for more than a year, it was born from our participation in the WIN Forum in 2019. Our objective is to work with players in the financial sectors, to bring about concrete solutions on these subjects which are at the heart of our social commitment », Says Catherine Joly, global COO of Chapuis Halder.

The objective is to ” build solid networks to accelerate ethnic diversity and parity at the managerial level “. It aims to analyze why companies, which put a lot of effort into the diversity of their junior recruitments, see these profiles becoming scarce as they climb up the hierarchy.

The virtual hackaton will be held over two days: October 28 between 4 and 7 pm and October 29, between 5 and 6.30 pm. The first session takes up the process of prototype and ideation of “design thinking”: a brainstorming session that allows you to find and deepen a solution, and reflect on the user experience. The second session will consist of the presentation of these “pitches” to a panel of judges, representatives of the event’s partner companies such as Gladclif, CACIB or BNP Paribas.

The event is free and accessible to all, its ambition is to attract very diverse profiles. Participants can register individually or in teams, and each group will be made up of 5 to 6 people. The winning team will receive a prize, but also the opportunity to be incubated at Chappuis Halder, to capitalize on this network of innovation, and to work directly with partners from financial services.
