A Los Angeles police officer was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the murder of a man in a Pomona bar in 2015.

Henry Solís, 32, was convicted on February 5 for the death of Salome Rodríguez Jr., 23 years old. The police officer was out of service when the events occurred. Then he fled to Mexico.

Solís was arrested in Juarez City two months after Rodríguez's murder. The armed attack was the result of an argument, although Solís said he had tried to arrest the victim after he was robbed and sexually assaulted by two men.
