Near 40% of non-essential businesses that opened their doors during the weekend in the los angeles county they did not comply with the orders of social distancing and the use of masks, according to an evaluation made by the health authorities.

The director of the Department of Public Health, Dra. Barbara Ferrersaid at a press conference that health inspectors conducted assessments at 410 companies, including florists that opened their doors just right for Mother's Day celebration.

The data shared by the director reveals that 162 businesses out of 410 visited violated county health orders, including social distancing.

"We saw many vendors who allowed customers to enter stores without following distancing measures and who did not require customers to wear face masks"Ferrer stated.

The authorities ordered the forced closure of some shops for not complying with the measures.

The total of infected in Los Angeles reached 32,258 cases, while 1,569 patients have died because of the disease.
